  Physical fitness and mental fitness often go hand in hand.  The more physically fit your body is, the better your mind can function.  Eating right, exercising, and watching your diet are important factors that can both enhance and prolong life.  That’s why so many people are joining health and fitness clubs these days to get in shape, loose weight, and to become more physically fit. The problem is, they might not stick with the program.  And once someone attending a gym stops going and cancels his membership, it won’t be long before he does not have much to show for the investment. A lean body can relatively quickly turn into fat again

Not so with karate training.  When a person engages in martial arts training he or she learns self-defense methods and a mode of exercise that will be there for a lifetime. This is why joining a martial arts class makes perfect sense. The practitioner learns over time to become physically fit, mentally prepared, and gains knowledge of hand to hand combative skills, mediation, weaponry, environmental and danger awareness, and much more.

  Martial Arts offers great fitness for the whole family - a social network of diverse people with a common interest in self-improvement. At Flaherty’s Kenpo Karate we train hard. People who practice well in class leave for the day feeling much better about themselves. All they need to do as students is following these three easy steps:

1.	 Come to class on a regular basis.
2.	 Practice often to build a sweat and to get the heart pumping.
